Adjusted Tuition

If you are wondering whether you can afford a Nora School education, the answer may surprise you. The Nora School aims to be an inclusive learning community of belonging, and welcomes families of all backgrounds, resources and income levels.

We understand that while applying for adjusted tuition adds to already existing stress, but this extra step allows us to make equitable adjustments.

To apply for adjusted tuition:

  1. Complete the Admissions Process - The Nora School processes adjusted tuition applications only for those students who are first accepted for admission.

  2. Complete an Application with our independent third-party provider, FAST. This application includes space where you may describe your particular circumstances, and must include financial information from all parents and responsible parties. (NOTE: The cost for this application is $45, but if this fee is an impediment to your applying, vouchers are available to cover this cost.)

FAST reviews your information, and sends The Nora School a fair assessment of your estimated tuition contribution. These assessments are evaluated by a Nora School Committee of the Board of Directors, which determines eligibility for tuition adjustment.

Applications for adjusted tuition are accepted anytime after January 1, but to be included in the first round of allocation, applications must be processed by February 25. Returning families re-submit a FAST application every year in the same time frame. Any applications received after February 25 will continue to be evaluated, but tuition adjustments will be based on remaining funding, if any.

Please Note:  The Nora School requires that both parents — whether married, separated, or divorced — bear responsibility for the cost of educating a child to the extent their finances permit. For that reason, the financial statement requests information from both parents, even in the case of separation or divorce.
