Happy to give thanks…

Dear Friends,

Congratulations to students on the honor roll for the first quarter! Today we went to lunch together at our good friend and neighbor, Vicino’s Restaurant. This is a long standing tradition at The Nora School and it was fun to eat together in recognition of the students’ dedication to their academics. As always, the new quarter is a fresh start and new opportunity for all our students to reach towards their own version of success.

Parents can join me on Tuesday, November 30 at 6:45PM for a virtual open meeting. I’d like to have some feedback about some Covid protocols that could change in the new year. I will introduce the ideas regarding protocols and plans for our Travel Intersession to the Dakotas at our meeting and in follow up letters.

Wednesday, December 1, is Community Service Day. All students will continue in the same groups that they attending in November.

Junior Parents and others with interest, please hold the date December 16. Scott and I will join you IN PERSON in the Main Hall for College Night. I will share more details about College Night in the next newsletter.

Practicing gratitude is a part of our mindfulness work at Nora. Noticing good things, good people, good deeds in ourselves and others can help lift feelings of heaviness. I am grateful each day I open the front door of Nora knowing that I will be in community with all of you. I wish you a very happy Thanksgiving, and look forward to the new week on November 29.

Peace,

Mara
