Pep and Energy in our Step

Dear Friends,

We gathered together in such meaningful ways last week! Thanks so much to Scott for leading a story-filled College Night, to Pixie for leading field trip to Glenstone Museum, and to Marcia for leading the Parent Social. And those students setting the standard of academic excellence had a very nice lunch together at Vicino Restaurant. Everything together added bits of pep and energy to the program as we hunker down for mid-quarter academics.

It is important to reinforce the fractured nature of the second quarter at Nora. The quarter began on November 2. We took a five day break for the Thanksgiving Holiday. We will break again on December 21 for the Winter Break. When we return from break there are just eight class days and one community service day before semester exams. Semester exam grades are part of the second quarter overall grade. The first and second quarter grades are averaged for the First Semester grade which appears on the high school transcript. Keeping focus on school work and using Overtime wisely these days before Winter Break are extremely important considerations!!

Our first basketball game of the season is an away game at Friends Meeting School. Please remember that we take some time to eat dinner at Laurienzo’s after games at FMS, so the team will return back to school around 7:00.

And if you know a friend who might be interested in learning more about Nora, please invite them to our virtual Open House on Thursday morning at 9:15. It’s an easy way to learn more about our unique program. You can’t imagine how many of our families heard about Nora from another family. Maybe you can be that person to someone else. Thank you.

And we wish a very Happy Hanukkah to our friends of the Jewish faith!

Peace,
Mara
