Celebrating Winter
Dear Friends,
The National Honor Society leads service projects with us throughout the year. The Food Drive last month was a big success and three students were recognized with pie and artwork as thanks for their significant contributions to the cause. This month the NHS is leading a toy drive and a hygiene drive. New items of small toys for children (all items need to be below $20) and hygiene produces for adults (soap, toothpaste, tooth brushes, etc). Students can volunteer to bring these items in next week to support families beyond our small community. Thank you.
As we forge forward through the second quarter, Advisory Groups spent the last two weeks considering ways we can lean into the long winter months with comfort and intention. Whether it’s wrapping yourself in a warm blanket or drinking a warm beverage, winter is a time to store energy for the coming new year. Taking good care of ourselves can perhaps serve as an alternative to closing down. The SGA is promoting this spirit with Candy Grams for sale at lunch. Students can purchase a candy gram to write a friendly message to the person of their choice. The message and candy will be delivered the next day at lunch time…a kindness surprise!
Peace,
Mara
