Discovering

February 4, 2022

Dear Friends,

Rolls of film, tiny captured images, a dark room ,and the magic of printing photographs; A thing of the past? Or a chance to delve into the mysteries of chemistry and art? Learning by doing. Discussions of the past and comparisons to the present bring context to our own lives and appreciation for discovery, invention and analysis.

Celebrating Black History Month at Morning Meeting and in Advisory has been another foray into the significant contributions of our past and our present. This week we shined the light on: Photographer Marvin Joseph, Abolitionist and Political Activist Harriet Tubman, and teacher and NFL referee Maia Chaka.

The energy and interest in classes this week was vibrant and exciting as we flung ourselves into the new semester. Overtime begins on Monday, so if you are behind in your classes, please be prepared to stay at school from 2:45-3:15 to meet with your teachers.

Happy Weekend.

Peace,

Mara
