Nora’s First Week Back

Dear Friends,

The first week of school was wonderful. Our staff, pictured above, (minus our dear Cheyenne who is out on maternity leave!) and all of our students spent the week getting to know one another. We played Silly Games w/Scott, attended our new schedule of classes, ate pizza and ice cream, hiked through Rock Creek Park, and bent and swayed like palm trees with whatever came our way—Closed trails due to Hurricane Ida, tracking permission and health forms (thank you, Marcia), logging in to new emails, and figuring out how to open a combination lock.

I really give credit to all of you in our community for what you accomplished this week. Do not underestimate the enormity of the transition we are all experiencing—Coming out into a new world, being around many people, committing to a culture of engagement. This week behind us bodes well for our year together, and I look forward the weeks ahead!
