Dear Friends,

This was our fourth week of school, and the first full five day week we have had in-person since March 2020. Give yourself credit for getting through this week; it is no small feat to return to full engagement at school. Everyone is having their own experience—elation at being around friends, exhaustion from constant transition throughout the day, adjustment from the “idea” of coming to Nora to the “reality” of doing school work. Being in deliberate community with one another supports us from moment to moment.

As we look ahead to the colder months, my last meeting with “Medical Experts for Independent Schools” continued to be extremely informative and useful.

  • The protocols we are using allow us to keep school open

  • The ebb and flow of states with high spread of the virus continues and is moving into the North-East corridor

  • The virus transmits more easily in winter with drier air and more people indoors

It is extremely important that we continue to monitor for symptoms through the Daily Health Check, and it is time to please schedule your FLU VACCINE.  I can talk in more detail at our Parent Meeting on Tuesday, if you would like.

The soccer team enjoyed a strong first game of the season, taking good time to discover where the strengths of each teammate lay. We defeated Siena school (8-5) and look forward to challenging match against The Lab School on Thursday at home.

Peace,

Mara
